Last Tuesday our NRCS office, along with the other southwest area offices, had the opportunity to spend the day touring the BNI Coal mining and reclamation operations here in Center, ND.
It was a great chance to see firsthand how reclaimed mine ground is managed, learn about the reclamation process, and better understand the challenges and innovations involved in restoring mined land.
A big thank you to BNI for hosting us, sharing their expertise, and providing lunch. Always good to get out in the field and connect the work we do with the landscapes we serve!

Heads-up! Our phone number officially decided to disconnect from its responsibilities. Phased disconnection began this morning, 8/28, which is a polite way to say the old number is hanging up on us.
Please save the new number for future use. Otherwise you might think we’re intentionally giving you the silent treatment.

Well…we finally dragged our feet long enough on this update: we’re getting a new phone number.
Please update your contacts if you have been kind enough to save us. Our old phone number is retiring and currently packing its bags while each employee is updating all the letterheads and correspondence sent by the agencies with the previous number.
