Please stay alert!
🚨 EXTREME FIRE DANGER & HIGH WIND WARNING TODAY 🚨
Oliver County and surrounding areas are under EXTREME fire danger conditions today. With dry conditions and strong winds, even the smallest spark can turn into a fast-moving wildfire in seconds.
🔥 PLEASE DO NOT BURN TODAY 🔥
This includes:
• Garbage burning
• Brush piles
• Campfires
• Fire pits
• Burning barrels
• Welding/grinding in dry grass areas
• Anything that could create a spark
A cigarette tossed from a vehicle, a chain dragging on the highway, or one spark from equipment is all it takes.
⚠️ Everyone is asked to stay alert today.
If you see smoke or fire — CALL IT IN IMMEDIATELY. Quick reporting can save homes, land, livestock, and lives.
🏡 Rural Residents:
It is a good idea to water the grass and areas around your home, buildings, propane tanks, and shelterbelts to help keep them green and slow the spread of fire if one starts nearby.
🚜 Farmers & Ranchers:
If you have portable water tanks, trailers, discs, tractors, or other equipment that could help slow the spread of a fire — and are willing to assist in an emergency — please reach out on this page or contact Chief Bryan Bradley directly. Having local resources ready can make a huge difference during fast-moving grass fires.
Please use caution today and help protect our communities, firefighters, and neighbors. Stay safe and stay aware. 🚒
