If we’re serious about a fiscally conservative government, we must follow the money. That's why I cosponsored successful legislation for an independent audit of the Commerce Department funds we hand out every year, so we can root out waste, demand real results, and protect every North Dakota tax dollar from bloated bureaucracy.

I spent years working inside North Dakota’s power industry before ever going to Bismarck. I put on a hard hat at Basin Electric’s Leland Olds Station in Stanton, serving as a laborer, boiler attendant, equipment operator, and in mechanical maintenance during the construction and start‑up of Unit II. I know what it means to keep a plant running, to work shift after shift alongside the men and women who power our state—and that’s why I’m so determined to keep our coal industry, and the jobs it supports, strong for the next generation.

Telehealth can be a lifeline in a rural state like North Dakota, but only if folks can actually use it. With others, I've worked to take a serious look at the real‑world barriers to telehealth so families, seniors, and veterans can connect to care more easily without red tape or excessive bureaucracy.

Medical decisions belong to you and your doctor—not big government, big pharma, or distant bureaucrats. That’s why we've worked hard on a number of medical freedom bills, which I have cosponsored and defended. These bills pushed back on coercive mandates, demanded accountability when the state aggressively promotes “safe” vaccines (that turn out to not be so safe), and stopped big health systems from locking independent North Dakota providers out of the plans that patients want.

When Joe Biden was letting the southern border be overrun, I stood up for North Dakota. I backed a resolution telling the White House and Homeland Security we would not be a dumping ground for illegal immigrants flown in from Texas. We made it clear: fix the crisis at the border, enforce our laws, and don’t ship Washington’s failure to North Dakota.

No child should stumble into po*******hy or graphic s*xual content in a school or public library. That's why I supported legislation that sets clear standards and real consequences for any explicit material in taxpayer‑funded institutions. This puts our kid’s safety ahead of radical agendas.

Our kids deserve privacy and common sense in school, not woke experiments. That's why I introduced and passed a bill that requires bathrooms and locker rooms based on biological s*x, not someone's mental state. This strengthens parental rights so North Dakota families, not liberal activists, are in charge of classroom policy.

Whether it's defending North Dakota's existing constitutional carry laws, or expanding concealed carry, my record is 100% in line with defending our Second Amendment and our constitutional right to self defense.

Some in Minnesota and Washington want to pretend we can flip a switch and walk away from coal power. In reality, North Dakota coal still provides a major share of our dependable, around‑the‑clock capacity and anchors electric reliability in our region.

Instead of surrendering to a one‑sided “green” agenda, we’re turning lignite into a strategic asset. Researchers and industry partners are developing new applications of lignite energy and studying ways to extract rare earth elements and other critical minerals from lignite and mine waste, so America is less dependent on China for materials used in smartphones, wind turbines, and defense technology.

The Department of Energy and the University of North Dakota’s EERC are investing in North Dakota projects that will be the future of American energy and manufacturing. I’ll keep standing up for coal country—supporting our miners and plant workers, embracing new technologies, and supporting rare‑earth development. A strong lignite industry means strong communities across our state and energy security and dominance for the United States.
