June is National Safety Month. Highlighting safety during the month of June is to raise awareness of the leading causes of preventable injuries and death. Throughout the month we will cover safety topics relating to keeping people safe on the roads and in their community.

As the month comes to an end we can look back on the different safe driving topics highlighted this month; bicycle safety awareness🚲, motorcycle safety awareness🏍, and the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
Although the month to highlight these topics is almost over it is important to always practice awareness on the road no matter what kind of vehicle you are in and wear your seatbelt.

Bicycle safety is more then just the responsibility of the cyclist. Make sure that when you are driving your vehicle near bicyclists you give them plenty of room. Passing too closely is a recipe for disaster. If you see a bicyclist, keep your distance!

This week was our Click it or Ticket kickoff event.
To bring education and awareness to the topic of the importance of wearing a seatbelt we set up a table at the West Geauga Library during their after-school program as well as conducted a seat belt check at Wendy's in Chardon alongside Chardon PD.
Thank you to the West Geauga library, Highway Patrol, Wendy's, and Chardon PD for helping us to spread the message.
