Last month, we welcomed our past Board Presidents for a special gathering at CBI to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year and discuss the opportunities ahead for Leadership Charlotte. We are also excited to welcome Lakeisha Temple (LC40) as our new Board President and to recognize Melissa Boone (LC33) for her outstanding service and leadership over the past year.

We're grateful to our past and present leaders for helping advance a more connected and engaged Charlotte community.

We are saddened to share the passing of Georgia Jacquez Lewis from Class 3.

Georgia embodied the spirit of servant leadership through her tireless advocacy and commitment to the Charlotte community. A pioneering attorney and public servant, she broke barriers throughout her career - from serving as Mecklenburg County's first Latina magistrate to becoming the first Latina member of the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections and the first Latina recipient of Leadership Charlotte's Schley Lyons Circle of Excellence Award. Her lifelong dedication to advancing justice and opportunity leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Cross-class connections, great conversation, and a shared commitment to Charlotte! Shoutout to our Executive Director, Elizabeth McKee (LC25), for hosting her first LC IRL at our office last week!

LC IRL was created to help alumni build connections across classes through casual lunch and coffee conversations. It's a simple but meaningful way to strengthen our network and keep alumni engaged with one another and the community we serve.
