Charlottesville is currently in a Drought Watch, and we’re encouraging voluntary water conservation.
Small actions add up, check out these easy ways to save water at home and outdoors:
• Let your grass grow a little longer to help roots dig deeper.
• Give sprinklers and hoses a break as your lawn can handle going a bit brown.
• Sweep driveways and sidewalks instead of hosing them off.
• Add mulch around shrubs to retain moisture and protect soil.
• Be a leak detective: fixing leaks saves water, energy, and money.
• Install WaterSense labeled water fixtures and pick up a free conservation kit at City Hall with showerheads and faucet aerators.

Charlottesville Utilities and the Albemarle County Service Authority want you to know that our area is under a drought watch. We encourage the community to limit water use to help avoid mandatory water restrictions.

💦To assist with water conservation efforts, the City of Charlottesville offers FREE water conservation kits. Kits include: WaterSense labeled faucet aerators, a WaterSense labeled showerhead, a roll of heavy duty Teflon tape to help install the showerhead, and toilet leak detection dye tablets.
