Is your teen interested in a law enforcement career?
We are hosting a Teen Community Academy and are looking for students entering 10th-12th grade (Fall of 2026) that attend Chaska, Chanhassen, Southwest Christian, or Holy Family High School.
This program is free and offers hands-on look at how officers serve and protect our community. Participants will meet department staff, tour the our new facility, take part in interactive demonstrations involving drones, traffic stops, investigations and more.

This academy meets once a week on Wednesdays from July 1st-July 29th, from 6pm-8:30pm at the Chaska Police Department.

We will only have 20 spots available and registration is open through June 22 or until class is full.

100 Deadliest Days. It’s near the beginning of the deadliest stretch of the year on Minnesota roads.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, families across the state will lose people they love in crashes that never should have happened. Not because of bad luck. Not because of “just one drink.”

Because of preventable choices.

So let us be very clear: this is your warning. We have extra traffic enforcement on the roads throughout the summer.

Today, Officer VanDaalen began his extra traffic enforcement shift at 10:00 a.m. By 10:42 a.m., he had a suspected impaired driver stopped. 42 minutes.

This is the same officer that took 40+ impaired drivers off our roads last year and was recognized for that work at the recent SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce 4th Annual First Responder Luncheon. Thank you, Officer VanDaalen.

Summer should be remembered for lake days, graduation parties, ball games, and time with friends and family. Not for a knock at the door no family should ever receive.

Remember: your choices matter. And if no one else is there to hold you accountable, we will.

Dunkin’ Cop on a Rooftop is officially in the books, and Chaska showed up in a big way!

With a little help from Chaska’s maintenance team, Officer Godinez made his way to the rooftop and had an amazing time. A huge thank you to the Chaska Dunkin’ staff, as well as Minnesota Special Olympics athletes Casandra, Nick, Emily, and Jessica for joining us.

But we’re not done yet — Special Olympics Minnesota is still accepting donations to support these incredible athletes. Click on the following link if you still wish to donate.

Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support!
