Last week, several staff members attended the Minnesota NAHRO Spring Conference at Sugar Lake Lodge. It was a wonderful opportunity to network, learn, and take part in many engaging sessions. Our Executive Director was part of a panel that presented on social media and websites.

There was also time for fun. Through events like Family Feud and Bingo, we raised enough money to fund two scholarships for our memer residents. Looking forward to the fall conference!!

This year, we closely partnered with Bountiful Basket Food Shelf to support families facing housing instability in Carver County. With the help of the Community Resource Navigator at Bountiful Basket and our CDA staff, we were able to connect people with resources and administer emergency housing relief through financial assistance. We are continually grateful for our partnership with Bountiful Basket and are honored to be featured in their May newsletter!

As our community faced a government shutdown, anticipated SNAP disruptions, and an increased federal presence, many of the families we serve experienced heightened fear and uncertainty. For some, even leaving their homes to access food no longer felt safe.

World CLT Day 2026 is a global moment to celebrate community land trust initiatives, such as the Community Land Trust serving Carver County since 2009. May 15 is World CLT Day, which aims to raise visibility, share successes, and strengthen the partnerships that make these programs possible.
