Going strong since 2011, the Water and Wastewater Energy Efficiency Partnership allows us to continually find new ways to reduce our footprint through no-cost energy evaluations and strategic management. Because saving energy at our wastewater plant means a cleaner, greener future for all of us. 🌍💙

Our amazing 2026 MBEC Interns, Emilee Toombs (Energy Team) and Cameron MacMaster (Finance Team), presented their presentations to the Mayor and his Executive staff—and they absolutely crushed it! 🌟
They brought hard work, laughs, and fresh perspectives to our department, and we are so incredibly proud of them. Thank you, Emilee and Cameron, for being such a tremendous help. We can’t wait to see where your careers take you! 🚀

We just wrapped up an unforgettable week at WPC26!💧🤝
From July 19-22, our Wastewater Department team joined forces with our fantastic partners from Jacobs, Gresham Smith, and Brasfield & Gorrie for an incredible conference experience. We had the absolute best time connecting with water professionals, exploring the massive exhibit hall, and learning from our peers. We’re also incredibly proud of our collaborative team who stepped up to the podium to lead sessions of their own! 👏
When we weren’t networking or talking wastewater solutions, we were busy bonding. The ice cream social hit the spot 🍦, but the real highlights might have been the strikes at the bowling alley 🎳 and some unforgettable group karaoke performances! 🎤
Thank you to everyone who made WPC26 such a blast. We’re coming back energized, inspired, and already counting down the days until next year... because WPC is coming to Chattanooga! ✨ Stay tuned to our page for updates as we prepare for an amazing conference in the Scenic City! We always enjoy getting out into the community! Recently, our team had the pleasure of stopping by the Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club to talk all things MBEC. 🗣️
There can be a lot of mystery (and sometimes misinformation) surrounding wastewater processes, but we believe in total transparency. Our administrators genuinely enjoy geeking out over how we keep our local environment clean, and we are an open book! 🔬♻️
