The Levitt BLOC Music Series returns to RISE Chattanooga on Sunday, September 6.

Following the heartbreaking loss of RISE Chattanooga Executive Director Shane Morrow, this gathering will be an especially meaningful one for our community.

Shane understood the power of music to bring people together, create connection, and make space for community. As we continue to grieve his loss, the City of Chattanooga Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy is honored to work alongside the staff and Board of RISE Chattanooga to help keep this series going and continue creating opportunities for our community to gather through music and the arts.

Join us Sunday for an afternoon featuring Kimmie J Soul, live music, and local vendors.

Join us Friday, October 16, for a special edition of Culture on 4 featuring Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, and musician Avery Johnson in conversation with E. Foster Williams.

We’re bringing together music, conversation, food, culture, and community for the evening.

🎧 DJ Mixx will keep the music moving throughout the night
🍴 Byrd Brasi Food Truck will be on site
🍹 Cash bar available
🛍️ MFA will host a special pop-up shop

At the center of it all is a conversation with Avery about his incredible 30+ year journey in the music industry—from his East Tennessee roots to working with artists including India Arie, Usher, Outkast, Bone Crusher and more.

Join us on Friday, September 25 at 4:30PM to celebrate the new vibrant gateway to 11th Street and the MLK District with the artist, Cecilia Lueza and a special performance by the Auralcles Choir on the front steps of City Hall.

Inspired by the natural beauty of the Tennessee River Valley, the mural features TN birds including the American Robin and migratory birds arriving each spring including, the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, the Indigo Bunting, and the Barn Swallow.

This project was made possible by the MLK Neighborhood Association through the City of Chattanooga’s Art in Neighborhoods program with support from the Lyndhurst Foundation and the Footprint Foundation.

CULTURE ON 4 IS BACK!

Join us Friday, October 16, for a special edition of Culture on 4 featuring Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter, and musician Avery Johnson in conversation with E. Foster Williams.

Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Avery has built an incredible 30+ year career in the music industry, working with artists including India Arie, Usher, Outkast, Bone Crusher and more. This conversation will take us behind the music and into his journey from East Tennessee to studios in Nashville and Atlanta, the relationships and opportunities that shaped his career, and the lessons learned along the way.

And because you can’t talk about music without MUSIC, DJ Mixx will keep the pace moving throughout the night. 🎧

Wellness is an essential part of a thriving community.

Join the Chattanooga Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and the Fannie Mae Crumsey Foundation for Wellness Way: Art, Rest & Balance on Saturday, July 25, at 9:00 a.m. at the Outdoor Chattanooga Building, 200 River Street.

This free morning of movement, mindfulness, and connection will feature:
• Yoga led by Alexis J. Willis
• A Drum Circle with Kofi Mawuko
• Guided Meditation with Juanita Toney

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
