As students return to school during the next few weeks, we thought to highlight this bulletin board put together by an employee with messaging that can be applied everywhere and by anyone. She uses each board as a canvas, putting time, energy, creativity and intent at Southeastern Virginia Training Center.
"What inspires the messages on my monthly bulletin boards is the belief that everyone is carrying something we may never see," says Tiera Davis, Administrative Assistant at SEVTC. "A few kind words, an encouraging message, or a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger difference than we realize. Sometimes, those small moments are exactly what someone needs to keep going, face the day with confidence, or simply feel seen.
The workplace can be busy, stressful, and demanding, so I try to create bulletin boards that bring a little joy, positivity, and encouragement to everyone who passes by. Whether the theme is seasonal, holiday-inspired, or centered around an uplifting message, my hope is that it brightens someone's day, even if only for a moment.
I've always believed that 'it's the little things.' This bulletin board is one small way I can put that belief into action and help create a more positive, welcoming environment for both our staff and the individuals we serve."
