This month, we welcome Chiloquin students, teachers, and staff back for another school year and share a special thank you to the firefighters, emergency personnel, volunteers, and support crews who worked so hard during the Wrights Spring Fire and other fires around our community. We are also grateful to everyone who helped staff and support local evacuation centers.

Inside this month's newsletter, you'll also find information about water conservation during emergencies, upcoming City Council and community meetings, rabies prevention, and the Klamath County Property Value Appeals Board.

📚 Let’s Talk About Chiloquin Schools!

Parents, families, students, and community members are invited to join Klamath County School District Superintendent Melissa Cole for a community conversation about our schools and student success.

TEMPORARY WATER RESTRICTION

Due to today’s power outage, please use City water for human consumption only for the remainder of today. Please avoid watering lawns and other non-essential water use.

The restriction will be lifted Monday. Thank you for conserving water!

Be sure you're signed up for your county's emergency alert system. Familiarize yourself with your emergency plan and make sure you listen to emergency services. Visit ready.gov/plan for more information.

A Red Flag Warning is issued when we identify weather conditions that promote the rapid spread of fire, which may become life-threatening. This does not mean there is a fire. These conditions are either occurring now or will begin soon. It is important to have multiple ways to receive information from authorities. A Fire Weather Watch means critical fire weather conditions are possible during the watch period. These conditions could promote the rapid spread of wildfires, which could become life- threatening.

Check weather.gov/medford for forecast updates and a possible upgrade of this watch to a Red Flag Warning.

Gusty winds combined with low RH could lead to the rapid spread of any new or existing fires.
