We have the potential for some strong storms late this afternoon and evening.

Showers and some storms will move across areas north of I-70 this morning into early afternoon, but these are not expected to be strong. However, additional storms that develop mid to late afternoon could become severe with damaging wind the greatest threat. The highest potential is from west central Ohio into central Ohio.

Yankeetown Bridge is closed due to high water. The Army Corps of Engineers believes it will be closed all weekend.

We are expecting more rain Tuesday night and Wednesday night. We have already had about 4 inches in the last week in places. While the water has gone down some, it could rise up again.

Be aware of your surroundings.
We should dry out for a while after this.

A flood warning is active for Scioto River at Circleville until Monday afternoon. NWS Wilmington is showing 16.0 ft early Sunday afternoon. (Flood stage is 15.0ft.) It will fall below flood stage Monday morning.

Stay aware of your surroundings. Don't drive through water - you don't know how deep it is or what is in it. It doesn't take much water to sweep a vehicle away.

Rain builds back in near the Ohio River near daybreak Sunday, expanding northward. An additional 1-2+ inches of rain is certainly possible, especially for locations along/SE of I-71. Isolated flooding issues are possible again, in addition to any ongoing river/creek flooding.

Heat can also bring sunburn! Don't skip out on the sunburn. While a tan may look nice, a blistering burn and increased risk of skin cancer doesn't.

Do you, a loved one, or your team work outside? Ensure they have plenty of water, take breaks, and watch for signs of heat-related illness. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can sneak up on someone if not watched carefully.

In hot temperatures, vehicles can become dangerously hot - more so than what you feel outside. Don't leave pets or children in a vehicle.

In addition to vehicles, pavement can become dangerous for paws and bare feet.
