A construction crane struck a power line this morning, affecting customers in the area between East 9th Street and East 91st Street, from Kinsman Avenue to Chambers Avenue.

CPP crews are responding and working to assess the damage and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

We appreciate your patience while crews work in the area.

Power is restored to all affected customers except Marcella Road, where crews continue to safely work to quickly clear the area and restore power.

Outage Update: Crews continue to respond to scattered outages in Collinwood this morning related to fallen trees such as this one on Marcella Road.

Crews continue to work in the area to assess damage and restore service. We’ll share additional updates as work continues.

Outage Update 9/4 6:20AM:

The large majority of customers have had power restored. Crews continue to work on a few small areas of isolated outages.

Crews today will continue to work on storm restoration. If you are experiencing an issue with your power please report it online or by calling 216-664-3156

Outage Update 9/3 10:15PM:

Crews continue to work in the area from Dorchester Drive to Parkgrove Avenue, between East 152nd Street and East 185th Street, where there was significant storm and tree damage.

Power has been restored throughout the rest of the affected areas. We appreciate your patience as crews continue making repairs.

Outage Update 9/3 7PM:

High winds and storms moving through the area are causing widespread power outages affecting customers in and around the Collinwood area.

CPP crews are responding as conditions allow and working to restore service safely.

If you see a downed power line, stay away and call 9-1-1 immediately. Do not approach or touch downed wires.

We’ll provide additional updates as information becomes available.

Be Weather Ready! 🌡️⛈️

Hot weather and the potential for storms are in the forecast. Now is a good time to take a few simple steps to stay comfortable and prepared.

• Stay cool and hydrated.
• Limit prolonged exposure to the heat.
• Keep phones and essential devices charged.
• Stay weather aware and make any necessary preparations.

Need a place to cool off? The City of Cleveland has cooling centers open through September 3 to help residents beat the heat.

CPP is monitoring conditions and is prepared to respond if severe weather impacts service. Follow CPP for service updates and stay safe!

Led by American Municipal Power, Inc., these sessions help us develop our future workforce and ensure all CPP lineworkers are prepared to handle any situation safely and reliably in the field.
