Exciting news for Jefferson-Morgan!
We are excited to share that, in partnership with Intermediate Unit 1, Jefferson-Morgan Middle/High School will be participating in the Grable Foundation’s “One School, One Voice: Connecting Students and Communities in Rural Southwest Pennsylvania” podcasting initiative!
Through this grant opportunity, our Middle/High School will receive podcasting equipment to establish a student led podcast, along with professional development for students and staff. Students will also have opportunities for hands on learning through IU1’s career mobile lab, exploring careers connected to podcasting, media, communications, and related fields.
An important part of this initiative is its focus on inclusion and collaboration. Our podcast team will intentionally bring together students with disabilities and their general education peers to work side by side in developing, producing, and sharing podcast content. This will provide students with opportunities to build communication, teamwork, creativity, and real world skills while ensuring that a variety of student voices and perspectives are represented.
The podcast will also have a strong community connection, giving our students opportunities to tell stories, explore topics, and highlight the people and experiences that make Jefferson-Morgan special.
We are grateful to IU1 and the Grable Foundation for investing in our students and providing another innovative opportunity for them to learn, create, collaborate, and connect with our community.
One School. One Voice. Rocket Pride!
