Right now, only 6 of 24 appointment slots have been filled — and we need your help to make this blood drive a success!

Every donation can help save lives right here in our communities. Whether it’s for emergency patients, surgeries, cancer treatments, or trauma care, blood is always in need.

🚨 Training Alert 🚨

The Coggon Fire Department will be conducting live fire training near the intersection of Coggon Rd & Quality Ridge Rd on Saturday, May 23rd beginning at 8:00 AM. 🚒

During this training, smoke and flames will be visible in the area at times. This is a planned training exercise and there is no cause for alarm.

For the safety of both the public and our firefighters, please do not stop along the roadway to observe the training. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue training to better serve our community! 👨‍🚒🧯

This week is EMS Week, and at the Coggon Fire Department we want to recognize all of our members for the care they provide to our community every day.

While we have dedicated EMS personnel, many of our firefighters are also trained to assist EMS providers and play a major role in responding to medical emergencies. From first response and patient care to lifting, driving, support, and teamwork on scene — it truly takes every member working together.

Thank you to all of our Coggon Fire Department members for your commitment, compassion, training, and dedication to providing high-level patient care to the community we proudly serve. 🚑🚒

The City of Coggon has updated its Outdoor Warning Siren activation policy to better align with Linn County Emergency Management standards and improve consistency across our area.

Currently, our sirens are some of the few in the area that are not directly compatible with Linn County Emergency Management’s activation system, which means our sirens must still be activated manually. Because of this, having a clear and consistent activation policy is important to ensure timely warnings for our community.

Outdoor warning sirens will now be activated for:
• Tornado Warnings affecting the Coggon area
• Winds of 70 mph or greater confirmed on an anemometer
• Hail of 1.75” (golf ball size) or larger confirmed by our spotters
• A funnel cloud or tornado spotted or detected on radar within 10 miles of Coggon and moving toward the community
• Person acting as IC determines other conditions that could endanger life or property

When activated, sirens will sound for approximately 3 minutes.

These changes are intended to provide clearer and more consistent warnings for life-threatening weather conditions. Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors to seek shelter and obtain additional weather information immediately.

Residents are encouraged to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, including:
• NOAA Weather Radios
• Wireless Emergency Alerts on mobile phones
• Local media and weather apps

Wow! You all really showed up in a big way to support your local fire department! 🚒❤️

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for our omelette breakfast today—we had the pleasure of serving around 600 people! 🍳🥓 Because of your continued support, we’re able to grow, serve, and stay strong as a department.

A huge thank you also goes out to our dedicated firefighters and their families who gave up their weekend to make this event possible. 🙌 We truly couldn’t do it without each and every one of you!
