Had the privilege of providing sponsor testimony with Sen. Wilson on our Adopt-a-Trail legislation. This legislation is similar to the Adopt-a-Highway program, allowing organizations to help keep trails free of litter while also promoting trail stewardship and beautification.

By establishing the Adopt-a-Trail program, we can engage more people in protecting Ohio’s incredible natural resources while supporting the great work being done by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources!

This week, the Ohio Senate passed S.B 331, legislation that allows certain hospitality workers at publicly-owned facilities to accept tips for the services they provide.

From golf courses and convention centers to parks and public pools, workers help create great experiences for Ohioans and visitors. S.B.331 recognizes their effort and allows them to earn tips, just like their counterparts in the private sector.

Last week, I had the honor of being appointed to the Ohio Joint Committee on Data Centers, which will meet to find accurate information about the environmental, economic, and security impacts of Data Centers here in Ohio.

With the increase in bipartisan concern about the construction of data centers in local communities, this committee will be a great opportunity to find facts, hear from stakeholders, and allow Ohioans to have their voice heard.

Our first meeting is May 27th and will be broadcast on the Ohio Channel website. To tune in, visit ohiochannel.org, and look for the box that says, “Ohio Joint Committee on Data Centers”. Excited to be a part of this process!
