Sons of AMVETS 2027 Membership

The National AMVETS approved an increase in AMVETS membership dues at the National convention in Orlando FL. The increase is in the amount of $5.00 effective September 1st, 2026. This increase may require your local post to increase their AMVET Membership dues. The Sons of AMVETS Constitution requires that Sons of AMVETS membership dues be at the same level as the AMVETS membership dues.

Article III – Dues, Section I( b) of the Constitution:

b. The annual membership dues for State Departments shall be established by the State Executive Committee to be presented for approval at the State Convention by two-thirds (2/3) vote. Annual dues for the Sons Squadron shall be no less then their sponsoring AMVETS Post. MAL shall be responsible for State and National dues based on the State in which they live.

Please verify your local AMVETS membership dues and make any adjustment to the Squadron dues to be in compliance with the Sons of AMVETS Constitution.
Example: If the Squadron dues are $40 and the AMVETS dues are now $35. AMVETS may increase their dues to $40 as a result of the National AMVETS dues increase. In this scenario, the Squadron dues do not need to change.. If both the Squadron and AMVETS dues are at $30, and now the AMVETS dues change to $35, the Squadron dues need to change to $35 or higher.

Note that an updated Change of Officers form to reflect the Squadron dues should be submitted to the State and to National.
