🏆 Congratulations to Capt. Zachary W. Johnson, a CH-47F Chinook instructor pilot Company B, 3rd Battalion, 238th Aviation Regiment, who received the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award which recognizes company-grade commissioned officers and warrant officers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and exemplify the ideals of “Duty, Honor, Country.”

Johnson credited his senior enlisted advisors and technical experts for his success. “I’ve been mentored and coached by a lot of senior NCOs and warrant officers and being able to lean on their expertise to make the decisions that we need to at our leadership levels.”

The annual award honors the legacy of Gen. Douglas MacArthur across the active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve. Only seven officers were chosen this year from across the entire U.S. Army to receive this high honor, representing the Army’s top tier of junior military leadership.

Johnson received the award during the 38th annual award ceremony at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Va., Aug. 12, 2026.

Gov. DeWine activated Ohio National Guard units to aid in flood emergency relief efforts in Perry, Muskingum and Morgan Counties, to include a high-water rescue unit and 40 Soldiers from the 1484th and 1485th Transportation Companies, out of North Canton and Coshocton, respectively. They will assist Ohio Department of Natural Resources crews and local first responders already conducting rescues. Always Ready, Always There! 🇺🇸
