ACT OHIO Affiliated Construction Trades of Ohio and the Ohio State Building Trades Council represent nearly 1

Affiliated Construction Trades (ACT) Ohio provides the state’s construction industry with important information that enables best practices in construction across Ohio. Further, ACT Ohio seeks to educate the public on the imperative nature of the construction industry policies that it endorses. ACT Ohio also conducts multiple information-gathering and sharing functions to ensure the most accurate

information is disseminated. ACT Ohio performs the following functions to ensure the Ohio public is best served in public works projects as well as private construction:

- Research construction projects, laws and standards
- Marketing best practices to construction professionals and end-users
- Public Relations to ensure the correct information is disseminated
- Community Outreach for all communities with construction needs around the state
- Political Advocacy to properly inform legislators about relative issues

In addition, ACT Ohio works to improve and advance the state’s construction industry by positively affecting its key issues:

- Collective Bargaining
- Responsible Contracting
- Workforce Training/Apprenticeship
- Industry Regulations and Standards
- Labor/Management Cooperation
- Workplace Safety/OSHA Training
- Prevailing Wage Laws
- Drug-Free Workforce/Testing
- Organizing/Combating “Right To Work”

Going strong into their second century

Today is a special day for IBEW Local Union 575! On July 29, we proudly celebrate 119 years since our local union was chartered in 1907.

What began with 28 determined electrical workers who came together to charter Local 575 has grown into a union of nearly 800 active and retired members. Their vision, courage, and commitment to standing together laid the foundation for everything our local union represents today.

For 119 years, generations of Brothers and Sisters have built the electrical infrastructure that powers our homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, and industries while fighting for better wages, safer working conditions, and a stronger future for working families.

Today, we honor those original 28 members, remember every Brother and Sister who helped build this local union, and thank our current members for continuing that legacy every day.

From 28 members in 1907 to nearly 800 active and retired members today—our story is one of growth, solidarity, and pride.

Happy 119th Anniversary, IBEW Local Union 575! Here’s to our proud past, our strong present, and an even brighter future.
