During National Police Week, the Commerce Police Department would like to thank the Jackson County Sheriff's Office for allowing Cpl. Crenshaw and K-9 Argus demonstrate some of what they can do in front of Leadership Jackson.

It was a great opportunity to showcase the important work our K-9 unit does each day to help keep our community safe. We appreciate the continued support, encouragement, and partnership from leaders throughout Jackson County.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about law enforcement and for recognizing the service and sacrifice of officers during National Police Week.

Coffee with a Cop is all about bringing neighbors and law enforcement together in a relaxed setting to build trust, share concerns, and strengthen relationships one cup of coffee at a time. On Friday, April 24, 2026, Officer Mayfield was sworn in by Judge Chandler and received his badge in a special moment, pinned by his proud father. Commerce Police Department Community Announcement

The Commerce Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Jeff Drossman, is excited to offer a Ladies Handgun Training Class for residents within the City of Commerce.

📅 Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
📍 Location: 110 State Street, Commerce, GA

This course will include both classroom instruction and live-fire training at the Commerce PD firing range. Topics covered include:

✔️ Basic handgun safety
✔️ Shooting techniques
✔️ Georgia Use of Force & weapons laws

🕒 Schedule Highlights:
• 9:00 AM – Check-in (bring your personal handgun)
• 9:30–11:30 AM – Classroom training
• 11:30 AM – Lunch break
• Afternoon – Range

⚠️ Important Requirements:
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must pass a background check
• Must reside within Commerce city limits
• Registration requires firearm details (make, model, serial number, caliber)
• Ammunition will be provided
📌 Registration Deadline: April 27, 2026 at 5:00 PM
