A major milestone for downtown Corning, Iowa 👏

The historic Widener Building in Corning has officially reopened after a four-year rehabilitation effort led by Adams Community Economic Development, Iowa and community partners.

Originally constructed in 1885, the building had sat vacant for more than a decade before being fully restored into a mixed-use space featuring retail storefronts, office space, apartments, and entrepreneur incubator spaces.

A past Iowa West Foundation grant recipient, the project reflects the power of community partnerships, local investment, and historic preservation working together to create new opportunities for downtown Corning.

Today, the building stands as both a preserved piece of Corning history and a new opportunity for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and future downtown growth.
