Need a safety check for a car seat, booster seat, or seat belt? Join the Coventry Public Library this Thursday for a free safety check by a certified officer from the Coventry Police Department, RI.

Thursday, September 3rd from 9 am - 12 pm. in the Bike Path Parking Lot next to the Coventry Public Library.

A collaboration with the Coventry Parks & Recreation RI.

For the week of August 31st - September 4th we are on a regular collection schedule. We will be collecting Yard Waste this week. Place carts curbside, please be patient we will collect them as soon as possible.

The Coventry Public Library extends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Dolly Parton. We are so grateful for her Imagination Library, the global book-gifting initiative she founded that mails free books to children from birth until they turn five. Dolly was an incredible benefactor and champion of literacy, and she will be eternally missed. Rest in Peace, Dolly.

Half-day detour on Reservoir Road – August 24th

There will be a five-hour detour on Reservoir Road on Monday, August 24th beginning around noon, and ending at about 5 pm. This detour will allow the Town’s utility contractor to finish one of the last underground elements of the construction project. As with previous detours, signs will be in place to redirect drivers away from Reservoir Road.

Construction to install a sewer line to connect Coventry High School to the sanitary sewer system, and to replace Kent County Water Authority’s water line is winding down. The final paving of Tiogue Ave, Reservoir Road, and on the high school property will be done in late fall – after giving the underground utility work a chance to settle. Other than the detour on August 24th and the detour to be scheduled in the fall for paving – there are no detours on Reservoir Road.
