💧 WATER UPDATE 💧

Before anything else, I want to give a huge thank you to our Service Department and every crew that came in to help us get our water restored. They have been working since yesterday afternoon, through the night and all day today. It has been a long and exhausting process, and we cannot thank them enough for everything they have done for Crooksville.

Residents should start to SLOWLY see their water come back . Please expect low water pressure. It could take several days for pressure to get completely back to normal, and that is expected after a major water break like the one we just experienced. It takes time for the entire system to fill back up and stabilize.

We are still under a BOIL ADVISORY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Please continue to boil any water you are using for drinking, cooking, brushing your teeth, making ice, or anything else that involves consuming the water.

We also ask that everyone continue to conserve water as much as possible while the system is recovering.

I know this has been frustrating, especially on top of everything our community has already been through.

The Community Foundation for Perry County has established the Perry County Disaster Relief Fund to support our neighbors affected by local disasters, including the recent flash flooding that devastated several of our communities. The fund’s first priority is responding to current flood relief needs, with grants directed to organizations providing immediate services and assistance within our county. Any funds not required for the current response will remain in the fund to support future disaster needs. Our service department has been working very hard and overnight, to be able to get this water restored. We understand that this is very difficult.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE – BOIL ADVISORY & WATER CONSERVATION ⚠️

The Village of Crooksville is currently under a BOIL ADVISORY until further notice.

We are also asking ALL residents to please conserve water as much as possible at this time. Please avoid any unnecessary water usage until further notice.

We understand how much everyone has already been dealing with, and we truly appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding.

We will provide updates as soon as additional information becomes available.

I honestly don’t know that there are words to describe the amount of devastation our little community has experienced over the past several days. So many people have lost so much, and just when we thought we could begin picking up the pieces, we were hit with a second round of flood waters.

But in the middle of all of this destruction, I have also witnessed something pretty incredible.

I have watched our first responders work around the clock, exhausted but never giving up. I have watched neighbors help neighbors, complete strangers show up ready to work, businesses and organizations donate food, water, supplies, equipment, dumpsters—anything they could possibly give. I have seen people come from other communities simply because they heard we needed help.

There is absolutely no way I could begin to name everyone who has stepped up, because the list is endless. Please know that every single donation, every meal, every case of water, every piece of equipment, every hour of work, every phone call, every prayer and every person who has shown up has mattered.

To our firefighters, EMS, police officers, street and utility crews, county and state agencies, neighboring communities, businesses, churches, organizations, volunteers and residents—thank you. I don't think I could ever adequately put into words how grateful I am for what you have done for Crooksville.

We still have a very long road ahead of us. For some families, life has changed completely in a matter of days. Homes, belongings and memories have been destroyed, and there are people in our community trying to figure out how to start over.

But if there is one thing these last several days have shown me, it is just how strong this little community really is.

Please keep Crooksville in your prayers. Pray for the families who have lost so much. Pray for our first responders and everyone who continues to work tirelessly. Pray for strength for the days and weeks ahead.

Crooksville has been knocked down pretty hard, but we are still here. And we are going to get through this together. ❤️
