IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include... New Lexington, Shawnee, New Straitsville, and Hemlock.

At 132 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Thornport, or 8 miles northwest of Somerset, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include... Somerset, Thornport, Harbor Hills, Thornville, and Glenford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office invites you and your family to our 2026 Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, August 1 at the Perry County Gun Club!

This free community event is open to the public and offers young anglers a fun day of fishing, prizes, food, and time spent outdoors. Every participant will receive a T-shirt, lunch will be provided, and trophies will be awarded for the largest fish in each age group.

Bring the kids, enjoy a great day on the water, and help us promote positive choices through the outdoors. We look forward to seeing you there!
