Excited to share that I’m officially serving as Vice President of the Grand Prairie Host Family Lions Club! 💙🦁

Serving our community and creating opportunities for families is a huge part of why I started RAAVE, so I’m excited to continue building relationships, collaborating, and making an impact in another leadership role.

I’m grateful to my Lions family for trusting me with this opportunity and excited for what we can accomplish together! 💙

I normally don't share videos but this one definitely pulled at my heartstrings. How amazing the team that he has to support him and that push communication devices!! I love everything about this video. ❤️❤️. How amazing!

I really love getting the opportunity to work with my families, and I appreciate them trusting me with their babies because after a while.. they become my babies too. 💙😂

We worked on handwriting, cutting Play-Doh, hand strength, coordination, and other fine-motor skills that help with school and everyday activities. ✏️✂️

We had one little moment that lasted literally about six seconds, redirected, and got right back to having fun and learning. I love being able to meet them where they are and turn skill-building into something they actually enjoy!

A little look back at last weekend’s back-to-school event! 💛📚

One of my dreams has been to make sure children have access to school supplies that truly support their individual needs, so being able to provide adaptive and sensory-friendly school supplies through RAAVE DFW meant so much to me.

A huge thank you u to 4 Life's Sake for organizing such a wonderful event and allowing us to be a part of it. We loved connecting with the families, supporting the community, and helping students feel more prepared and confident going into the new school year. ✏️✨

Had such a good few days with my childhood friend and her daughter—basically my niece at this point 😂🩷
And of course, when your auntie is the autism plug, there’s a whole sensory closet ready to go.
Universal Kids Resort was actually so much fun too. I liked that every themed area had one main attraction plus little extra things to explore. It’s definitely great for younger kids, and the staff were really accommodating and welcoming.
We had the best time and are already ready to go back. Soooo…season passes next? 😂🎢

Who says you can't work on speech and functional skills at Chick-fil-A? 🐄💙

Therapy doesn't always happen at a table. Sometimes the best learning happens out in the community!

This is just a glimpse of our time together as we practiced:
🐶 Receptive identification (finding the dog and other items)
🗣️ Core sounds and communication
👉 Following one-step directions
🍟 Functional skills in a natural, real-world environment

By practicing these skills in everyday places like restaurants, children have the opportunity to build communication, confidence, and independence where it matters most—real life. 💙

Office day today. 💙
One thing I've always promised myself is that no matter how much RAAVE DFW grows, I'll never stop LEARNING.
Over the past several weeks, I've had the opportunity to brush up on evidence-based practices and spend more time back in direct support. It has been refreshing to revisit strategies from ABA, occupational therapy, communication, and naturalistic teaching while continuing to learn from incredible professionals and families.
As a nonprofit leader, I believe it's important to stay connected to the field. The more I learn, the better I can advocate, plan meaningful events, build strong community partnerships, and create opportunities that truly meet the needs of the families we serve.
Today it's back to emails, planning, and preparing for what's next. I'm excited for the upcoming events and partnerships ahead. Here's to always learning, always growing, and always putting our community first. 💙
