Great work by our neighbors to the West!

Last night deputies with the DETECT Drug Task Force in a joint investigation with Grant County’s JEAN Team Drug Task Force arrested Charles White for dealing a narcotic drug, a level 2 felony.

JEAN Team and DETECT officers followed Charles to a residence in northern wells county. Charles had 3 active arrest warrants for drug dealing and has evaded officers several times. While an apprehension plan was being put together, Charles left the residence in a white Dodge Charger. Officers were following him when he crashed at County Roads 100 East and 700 North. Charles fled on foot by the time officers caught up.

An hours long search was conducted using police dogs, drones, and officers from several jurisdictions. Charles was eventually found by a drone hiding in a bean field. He was taken into custody without further incident. A large amount of narcotics and cash were recovered.

During this incident a deputy was involved in a crash doing minor damage to a vehicle, but no one was hurt.

Involved agencies: Wells County Sheriff Office, Marion Police, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Bluffton Police, Ossian Police, Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Markle Police, Ossian Fire Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, and the Bluffton 911 Center

NOTE: An arrest is merely an accusation based on Probable Cause and all subjects are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Lynn Town Marshal Brad Fisher made the ultimate sacrifice today in the line of duty.

Marshal Fisher was deploying stop sticks during a vehicle pursuit when he was struck by the fleeing suspect's vehicle. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.

Please keep Marshal Fisher's family, his brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and the entire Randolph County public safety community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Brother. We have the watch from here.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department after two officers were shot while responding to a disturbance call last night.
The officers were answering the call to protect their community when they came under gunfire. The suspect was fatally wounded during the exchange, and both officers remain in serious condition as they receive treatment. Out of respect for their loved ones, their identities are being withheld while family notifications are completed.
We ask everyone to keep these officers, their families, their fellow officers, and all those affected by this tragic incident in your prayers. We stand united with IMPD during this difficult time and remain hopeful for the officers' full recovery.
Fraternity. Support. Strength. 💙🖤

The Fraternal Order of Police is proud to partner with Gratitude Initiative to officially launch the first-ever Law Enforcement Child Month this July.

Law Enforcement Child Month is a national movement dedicated to recognizing, celebrating, and strengthening the children and families of America’s law enforcement community.

We invite departments, agencies, lodges & auxiliaries, organizations, and communities to join us in recognizing their local law enforcement children. Together, we can strengthen law enforcement families nationwide and ensure these children know they are seen, valued, and supported.

To make participation simple, visit GI's free online Law Enforcement Child Month Toolkit with ready-to-use resources and awareness materials: lechild.org
