On September 21, I had the honor of joining the Armenian community in Los Angeles to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

The evening brought together people whose love for Armenia is evident wherever they live. I was especially glad to share this occasion with fellow Armenians and friends of Armenia, and I’m grateful to the Consulate General for bringing us together.

Happy Independence Day, Armenia. 🇦🇲

Today, Armenians around the world celebrate 35 years of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.

Independence is more than a moment in history. It is our responsibility to protect Armenia’s sovereignty, strengthen its future, preserve our identity, and pass our language, culture, and values to the next generation.

As Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia to Colorado, I remain committed to building stronger ties between Armenia and Colorado and creating new opportunities for cooperation, friendship, and progress.

Happy Independence Day to the people of Armenia and Armenians everywhere.🇦🇲

Life has a remarkable way of coming full circle.

In 2013, I had the privilege of serving as Treasurer for then-State Representative Dianne Primavera of Colorado House District 33. I was early in my career, and her leadership and commitment to public service left a lasting impression on me.

Thirteen years later, I returned to the Colorado State Capitol to meet with Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera — this time in my role as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia to Colorado. 🇦🇲🇺🇸

Joined by Caitlyn Roth and Dylan Craddock of Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, we explored where Armenia and Colorado can build meaningful partnerships, particularly in space and aerospace, semiconductors and advanced technology, mining and critical minerals, and higher education.

My sincere thanks to Lieutenant Governor Primavera for her continued mentorship, thoughtful guidance, and the beautiful handmade glass flower she gifted me to remember the occasion.

Thirteen years. Different roles. Same commitment to Colorado. A very special full-circle moment.

In true French fashion, 🇫🇷 Honorary Consul of France Omar-Pierre Soubra shared the art of sabrage, teaching 🇸🇪 Honorary Consul Emeritus of Sweden Marie Forsberg-Mare how to properly saber a bottle of Ch*****ne — a French tradition dating back to the Napoleonic era. 🥂⚔️

🇦🇲🌎 Diplomacy is built not only through meetings, but through friendship, culture, and community.

It was a pleasure to join fellow members of the Colorado Consular Corps for our International Summer Potluck, bringing together representatives of countries from around the world to share traditional food, stories, and an evening of fellowship.

Armenia was proudly represented alongside our friends and colleagues from across Colorado’s international community. Events like this are a wonderful reminder that some of the strongest relationships begin simply by gathering around the same table.

A special thank you to Kalita Grill Greek Cafe in Lafayette for generously welcoming the Consular Corps and providing such a beautiful setting for the evening. Their warm hospitality helped make the gathering truly special.

And thank you to everyone who brought a taste of their country to share; from Armenian favorites to dishes and traditions from around the world.

🇦🇲🤝🌍 Celebrating cultures. Building connections. Strengthening friendships.

Proud to share the Advance Armenia Foundation’s 2026 Humanitarian Medical Mission to Armenia, taking place September 18–October 4.

This important mission will bring physicians from the United States and Armenia together to provide specialized care, train medical professionals, and strengthen long-term partnerships. Grateful to my fellow Honorary Consul Pertch Abgarian and everyone involved in this meaningful effort.

Please consider supporting and sharing the mission. 🇦🇲❤️
