Our Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) Training in Grand Junction was a success! For the first time ever, students joined us to share their perspective, opinions, and feedback on the ICAP process. It was an exciting reminder about who this process is for. Thank you to our Postsecondary Workforce team for leading the training and all 120 attendees who brought their stories, expertise, and curiosity to the training.

It’s What’s Up Wednesday, and we visited Eagle County School District, where chronic absenteeism dropped from 31.9% to 22.0% in just one school year, 2024-25 to 2025-26!

The district made attendance a shared priority. They focused on understanding the individual reasons students were missing school, from academic struggles and transportation barriers to work and family challenges.

Learn how Eagle County leaders began intervening earlier, working closely with students and families, and celebrating progress along the way: https://ed.cde.state.co.us/newsbureau/field-trips/eagle-county-why-behind-absenteeism

Today for Teacher Tuesday, we’re celebrating Kristi Reynolds, a third-grade teacher at West Ridge Elementary in 27J Schools.

Kristi has been teaching for eight years and is dedicated to supporting students and fellow educators. She serves as her local union secretary, sponsors student council and has mentored student teachers entering the profession. “The best part of teaching is laughing with my class! We have so much fun together and become close each year. It’s amazing to be able to bring levity and joy into each day.”

Outside the classroom, Kristi enjoys reading, traveling, thrifting and karaoke.
