The ASCP Free Store will be officially open for the Fall semester on August 31! 🎉

The Free Store is a program that diverts waste from landfills and gives a second life to donated items; everything is free and accessible to the Auraria campus community!

We also take donations in the box outside of our office! 👔📚✏️📦

This spring, the Auraria Sustainable Campus Program put in the work, literally sorting through waste!

Thanks to a $50,000 grant from C3 (Circular Colorado Communities Enterprise), we launched a comprehensive waste characterization study across campus in partnership with Diversion Designers. During the spring semester, our team collected and sorted 8,000 lbs of waste and recycling samples into 57 distinct material categories!

The findings from this study will help us:

→ Identify cost savings in waste hauling
→ Uncover opportunities for new recycling programs
→ Strengthen outreach and education around waste diversion

We will meet at the Cherry Creek by the underpass at Speer Blvd and Lawrence St on Friday, June 5 from 10am-2pm. 💧

Waders, gloves, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be provided. Please bring sunscreen, water, and snacks, and wear comfortable weather-appropriate clothing. 🌞
