Colorado Health Network is proud to stand alongside advocates, community members, and health justice leaders at the Care is Critical Rally & Candlelight Vigil on June 5th.

This powerful evening is part of the national Seven Days in June week of action, a call for health to be treated as a fundamental governing priority.

๐Ÿ“ Western Steps, Colorado State Capitol
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Thursday, June 5 | 7:00 โ€“ 9:00 PM

The evening will include live music, speakers addressing the intersectional healthcare challenges facing our communities, and a candlelight vigil to remember and recommit: to accessible, affordable, and compassionate care for all.

Healthcare cuts have real consequences. Real lives are at stake. Join us as we raise our voices and honor those whose lives have been shaped by barriers in our healthcare system.

Together, we will make it clear: care is critical, health is primary, and our communities must not be left behind. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Today is National Hepatitis Testing Day โ€” and it's a good reminder that knowing your status is one of the most powerful things you can do for your health.

Hepatitis C often has no symptoms. Many people living with it don't know it โ€” which is exactly why testing matters. When caught early, Hep C is curable. When left untreated, it can cause serious, long-term liver damage.

At Colorado Health Network, Hepatitis C testing is part of the wrap-around harm reduction care we provide through our Access Point program. In FY2025 alone, our team administered 633 free Hepatitis C tests across Colorado โ€” reaching people who might otherwise go undiagnosed.

If you haven't been tested recently, today's a great day to change that. CHN offers low-barrier, judgment-free testing for anyone who needs it. You deserve to know your status โ€” and we're here to help.

Happy Mental Health Monday, folx ๐Ÿ’š
This week, we're sharing two simple practices that can make a real difference โ€” especially on the days when stress feels like it's running the show.

Move Your Body
It doesn't have to be a workout. A walk around the block, some gentle stretching, a few minutes of yoga โ€” whatever feels right for you. Moving your body activates the part of your brain responsible for clear thinking and decision-making, while quieting the reactive stress response. It also boosts natural anti-anxiety neurochemicals like serotonin and GABA. A little movement goes a long way.

Take That Walk Outside
If you can, take your movement outdoors. Walking in nature โ€” noticing the trees, the plants, the feeling of sunlight on your skin โ€” has been shown to lower cortisol levels and help regulate the nervous system that kicks into overdrive when we're in fight, flight, or freeze mode. Even a neighborhood sidewalk counts.

Two small things. Real impact. You deserve to feel well this week. ๐Ÿ’š

A vaccine doesnโ€™t exist yet โ€” but the belief that one will? Thatโ€™s never wavered. ๐Ÿ’™

Today is National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day. Weโ€™re honoring the researchers, advocates, and communities whoโ€™ve kept this mission alive for decades, and holding onto hope for the breakthrough still to come.

Until then, CHN is here, connecting Coloradans to testing, prevention, and care, every single day.

This May, Colorado Health Network is sharing simple, evidence-based grounding techniques every Monday โ€” because mental health is health, full stop.

This week, we're focusing on breathing. Controlled breathing is one of the most accessible tools we have for calming our nervous system. When we slow our breath intentionally, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system โ€” the body's built-in self-regulation system.

Here are two exercises to try today:

Exercise 1: Belly Breathing
Lie on your belly on the floor and breathe deeply into your stomach. This position and breath pattern activates your vagus nerve, naturally slowing your heart rate and calming your body.

Exercise 2: 4-4-6 Breathing
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds
Hold for 4 seconds
Exhale through your mouth for 6 seconds
Pro tip: Pucker your lips as if breathing through a straw โ€” this naturally slows your exhalation and deepens the calming effect.

You can do either of these exercises at home, at work, or anywhere you need a moment to reset. Share this with someone who might need it today. ๐Ÿ’™

Today is National Harm Reduction Day โ€” and we're making the case in numbers.

In FY2025, Colorado Health Network's harm reduction programs served nearly 13,000 Coloradans, reported 1,994 overdose reversals, administered thousands of free HIV and Hepatitis C tests, and connected 661 people to PrEP. Applying conservative research estimates, those overdose reversals alone represent approximately $8.9 million in avoided emergency healthcare costs.

Harm reduction works. The evidence is unambiguous โ€” and the return on investment is extraordinary.

We've published a full breakdown of our FY2025 impact and the peer-reviewed research behind the numbers. Read it today at the link below.
