Today the Double Oak Police Department pauses to remember Sergeant Clint Murphy #140, who passed away on August 26, 2022.

Sgt. Murphy dedicated 27 years of his life to law enforcement including nearly eight years of service to the citizens of Double Oak.

His dedication, leadership, and service left a last impact on the Double Oak Police Department and on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Four years later, his memory remains with us. We remember. We honor. We will not forget.

The Double Oak Police Department extends our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Denton County Sheriff’s Office Communications Manager Robin Thomas.

Robin’s dedication, strength, and positive impact on the Denton County public safety community will not be forgotten. We join all our law enforcement partners in mourning her loss and keeping all who knew and loved her in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Communications Manager Robin Thomas.

Throughout her courageous and hard-fought battle with leukemia, Robin displayed remarkable strength, grace, resilience, and a profound love for life, inspiring all who knew her. We mourn her loss deeply and hold her memory close.

Our deepest sympathies are with her family, loved ones, and everyone whose life was enriched by knowing her. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

May we remember Robin not only for what she accomplished, but for the lives she touched and the lasting difference she made.

We are looking for an experienced, TCOLE certified peace officer who is committed to professional policing, community service, and becoming part of a close-knit department.

💰 Starting Salary: $79,364–$88,703, depending on experience

✅ 20-year TMRS retirement with a 2:1 match

This Fourth of July, our nation celebrates 250 years of Independence.

To mark this historic milestone, Chief Daniel Miller, Sgt. Rosy Halfmann, and Ofc. Tim Henderson reflected on what service, community, and gratitude mean to them.

As families across our community come together to celebrate, we encourage everyone to enjoy the holiday responsibly, look out for one another, and take a moment to appreciate the freedoms we share.

The Double Oak Police Department received a report on May 26, 2026, regarding found property (jewelry) discovered at Braum’s, 8421 FM 407, Double Oak, TX 75077, approximately two weeks earlier.

If you believe you may have lost an item, please contact Detective Halfmann at 972-355-5995 ext. 1006 and be prepared to describe the item and provide proof this item is yours.

We hope to reunite the owner with their property.

Today the Double Oak Police Department joins our community and our nation in remembering the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.

As we spend time with family, friends, and neighbors this Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy.

What a great afternoon at the Double Oak Summer Kickoff! ☀️🍧

Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped by, said hello, and enjoyed some Bahama Buck's with us. We're grateful for the opportunity to spend time with our residents and connect with the community outside of the usual day to day calls for service.

A huge thank you to the Double Oak Women's Club for helping make this event possible in such a big way. Your support, time, and generosity are truly appreciated.

We also want to thank our Town elected officials and community partners who attended and helped support today's event.

Most of all, thank you to the citizens of Double Oak. Your kindness, support, and involvement are what make this community so special.

Today was a great success, and we appreciate everyone who helped make it happen!
