The City of Dover is asking residents and businesses to voluntarily reduce water use due to ongoing regional drought conditions. These measures will remain in place until conditions improve.

“We’ve been fortunate to get through most of the summer without requesting restrictions, but we are now seeing the effects of the extended drought,” said Community Services Director John Storer. “Reducing lawn irrigation and other high‑use activities will help ensure adequate water for everyone, including our firefighters.”

The City of Dover urges voluntary water conservation as regional drought conditions persist. Aquifer levels will be discussed at the City Council's workshop on the city's water utility system, to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to:
💦Limit outdoor watering, including automatic irrigation systems
💦Use commercial car washes
💦Turn off the faucet while brushing teeth, doing dishes and washing hands
💦Fix leaks, including faucets and toilets
