🎆 As we gear up to 4th of July celebrations, don’t forget that fireworks can be scary for our pets and farm animals 🎇

🐾 If you find a lost pet, you can bring them to any vet’s office to check if they are microchipped. NHCFR also has pet chip readers at each station if your vet’s office is closed.

🐈 There’s still time to get your pets microchipped, if they’re not already, and to make sure your microchip info is up to date through your veterinarian’s office.

🐶 If your pet is missing, check with local shelters like and as well as the various local missing pets pages on Facebook and NextDoor.

🐎 Remember that horses and other farm animals can spook easily and can be hurt in the process. If you have neighbors with horses, informing them of your fireworks plans can go a long way in being a good neighbor and allowing them time to plan for their animals’ safety before the fireworks start.
