It didn't take long for people to fill the request sheet with things they need. Ignoring the requests clearly made by the roaming band of teen boys in the neighborhood (haha), here are the top requests:

Pedialyte
Diapers size 3
Wipes
Ravioli
Sugar
Shampoo
Conditioner
Hand Soap
Starkist Smartbowls
I plan to grab some things on my weekly shopping trip but feel free to drop any items off if you feel led. Thank you for your generosity! 😊
*Please please please do not leave stuff that is expired. These items will get tossed for food safety reasons.*

Thank you so so so much to everyone who dropped stuff off the past few days! It's always so heartwarming to see the community come together to support those around us.

After the last request note, we added a more official way for people to request items. Hopefully that will help us better serve those who come by the box.

Had a request waiting for us in the pantry today. If anyone is able to drop these items off this week I know someone will greatly appreciate it.
I was also thinking for putting a birthday cake kit in the box. Any other ideas of things to stock?
I'm going to put a request paper or box out so we can better serve the people around us who benefit from the Purple People Eater.

🌞Summer break is here🌞 And you know what that means...no more school breakfasts or lunches that some kids depended on. Consider donating items that kids can heat up or make themselves while they are on break.
Easy Mac and Cheese
Snack Crackers
Fruit Cups
Fruit or granola bars
Cereal
Peanut butter and jelly

🚫And a friendly reminder that any expired food will be pitched. If it's out of date but still good consider giving it away on a free cycle group or to someone who doesn't mind. Just because someone is visiting the pantry doesn't mean they should be offered expired or repackaged food.

🥰Thank you for those who donate books and food items to our little boxes. It's such a joy to see families out getting a book or some food while they stop to play checkers.

A friendly reminder to not place expired food in box. If you have expired food that you think is still usable consider posting it to a free cycle group or on your neighborhood page. Thank you for your understanding!

When it gets this cold we've been pulling the canned goods so they don't explode. Put some out for tonight but will be going back inside once it starts to snow on Saturday. Come and get it while it's out!
