Dear Residents,

As our team and the 96th Weather Squadron monitor Tropical Depression Two in the Gulf, a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Eglin AFB and our surrounding counties. We have the potential to experience tropical storm conditions over the next 24–48 hours.

What to Expect:
• High Winds: Sustained winds up to 34 knots (approx. 40 mph) are projected starting late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
• Heavy Rain & Flooding: Heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to localized street flooding and reduced driving visibility. Please use extra caution on the roads.

Action Required: Secure Outdoor Items

Please ensure all outdoor items are secured or brought indoors before Tuesday evening, including:
• Trampolines, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes
• Trash and recycling cans
• Outdoor patio furniture, decorations, flags, and planters
• Grills and propane accessories
• Pet items and toys (and remember to keep pets safe indoors!)
Emergency Preparedness Reminders:
• Charge mobile devices and backup power banks.
• Ensure you have basic supplies on hand (bottled water, non-perishable food, flashlights, extra batteries, and medications).
• Monitor local updates via the Eglin AFB page and National Weather Service.
