INCLUDE TED BROWN IN U.S. SENATE DEBATES

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Austin, TX, August 3, 2026

Ted Brown, the Libertarian Party candidate for U. S. Senator in Texas, wants to be part of the James Talarico-Ken Paxton Senate debates.

“There are only three candidates in the Senate race, yet the media outlets only invited Talarico and Paxton to three scheduled debates,” said Brown. “Voters need to hear from all the candidates to make an informed choice in this race. In a year when over 50% of voters nationwide say they are seeking alternatives to the corrupt status quo parties, it’s shocking that the only alternative candidate in this race hasn’t been invited.”

Brown, a former small business owner and insurance adjuster from Austin, also ran in the 2024 Senate race against Ted Cruz and Colin Allred and won a record 267,000 votes for a Libertarian Senate candidate in Texas.

Brown noted that Libertarian Senate candidates have been included in debates in many other states, like Georgia, Indiana, and Arizona. “In the past, the League of Women Voters hosted debates and invited all the candidates,” he said. “But since the tribal Red and Blue Teams became so pronounced, their candidates have refused this format and sought their own debates with favorable moderators.”

Brown also noted that in 1998, wrestler Jesse Ventura ran for Governor of Minnesota as the Reform Party candidate and was only polling in single digits. After he participated in four debates with the Democratic and Republican candidates, he rose in the polls and won the election with 37% of the vote. Voters got to see all the candidates, and that made all the difference.

No. The cure for government failure isn’t more government.

Municipal receivership simply trades local politicians for state bureaucrats while giving taxpayers even less control over those making decisions.

When a city repeatedly wastes taxpayer dollars, refuses to enforce state law, allows violent crime to spiral, or ignores its financial responsibilities, the people who suffer most are the taxpayers, families, and hardworking citizens left to clean up the mess and pay the bill. Texans deserve better....

"Having two choices on the ballot is not much of a choice," said Libertarian Patdixon.org an engineer, musician and former member of the Lago Vista City Council who is running for Texas Governor. "Nobody would settle for that if they were going into a grocery store or looking at a menu in a restaurant. When it's this important, voters deserve choice."

Cycle after cycle, year after year, Texas Libertarians run races they never win. There is a reason.

250 years ago, a bold idea changed the world.

This Independence Day, we celebrate the enduring promise of liberty; not as something guaranteed, but as something every generation must protect.

May we continue to choose freedom, personal responsibility, and opportunity over fear and control.

Happy Independence Day, and happy 250th birthday, America.

Strong communities start with empowered voters.

Pat Dixon believes local communities should have the freedom to make decisions that work best for their residents—including how they conduct local elections. Rather than one-size-fits-all mandates, he supports local control and greater voter choice.

When power starts with the people, government becomes more accountable.
