And an extra-special thank you to our generous donors who helped our Book Fairy surprise kiddos with books of their very own. Your kindness helped make sure even more books made it into the hands of our kids!

That’s a wrap on Book Blast!

Today, we delivered over 1,000 books to our students, and seeing all those happy faces made it worth it!

A huge thank-you to Book Blast by Books Are Fun for making the entire process so effortless and, most importantly, helping us put a book into the hands of every single one of our kiddos.

There’s nothing better than seeing kids excited about getting new books of their very own!

Here are just a few of the happy faces from today. Thank you to everyone who donated to make sure our kids walked out with a book today.

IT’S BOOK BLAST DELIVERY DAY!

All of our books are here, and our kiddos will be receiving their books today!

Our BIG Treasure Chest winner was also selected and received the chest this morning!

Stay tuned as we share more pictures of our kiddos receiving their books throughout the day!

And one last reminder: Today is the FINAL day of our Book Fair! The Book Fair closes promptly at 2:30 PM and will not be open after school.

A huge thank-you to the Parkland High School Soccer girls for coming out this morning to welcome our students! It was great having some of our former students back on campus and seeing them greet our kiddos as they arrived.

A huge thank-you to all of our wonderful grandparents who joined us today for Grandparents Day! It was so special to see our students spending time and making memories with you.

We also want to thank our amazing volunteers for helping decorate and make everything look beautiful, and our wonderful staff for helping everything run smoothly throughout the day. And of course to our cheer team! They walked around and pepped up the event.

We loved seeing all of the creative painted rocks that were brought in! I’ve already added a protective sealant to the rocks to help them last, and we hope to keep adding more throughout the year and watching our Grandparents Rock Garden grow.

Good afternoon, families!

All Grandparents Day tickets were sent home with students today. Please be sure to check your child’s backpack. I’ve included an example of the ticket so you know what to look for.

For families with siblings at our school, all siblings will attend during the PE time of the oldest sibling. The ticket was sent home with the oldest sibling, so please check their backpack for it.

Please give the ticket to your child’s grandparent and make sure they bring it with them on Friday. Each ticket includes the assigned time and the student’s name, which will help us quickly locate students when their grandparents arrive.

Thank you for your help! We’re looking forward to welcoming our grandparents to our school and having them spend this special time with their grandchildren on Friday.

Grandparents Day is this Friday, September 11!

This three-day weekend is the perfect opportunity to work on your Grandparents Rock Activity! Remember, rocks should be decorated AT HOME with your family and brought to school for our celebration on Friday.

I will have all Grandparents Day tickets passed out by Wednesday, so please be on the lookout for yours.

We can’t wait to celebrate with our grandparents and add this year’s rocks to our growing Grandparents Rock Garden!

Grandparents Day Reminder!

Our Grandparents Day Celebration is Friday, September 11!*

A special part of our celebration is our **Grandparents Rock Activity!** Students should decorate their rock **AT HOME with their family** and bring the finished rock back to school for Grandparents Day.

I’ve included pictures of some of the wonderful rocks our families created last year! Our hope is to **keep adding new rocks each year and watch our Grandparents Rock Garden grow** into a special tradition at Desertaire.

Be creative! Paint it, decorate it, add a special message for Grandma or Grandpa, just have fun making something meaningful together.

**Don’t forget:** RSVP forms are due **September 2**. Tickets will be sent home by **September 9**.

We can’t wait to see this year’s rocks and celebrate our amazing grandparents!
