Earlier in the year we were given opportunity to utilize an acquired structure within our fire district to use for live fire evolutions. After going through all of the proper channels and being granted permission to proceed over the last few months, we were able to conduct a multi-agency training session with live fire this past Sunday. Firemen from Pinch, Clendenin Volunteer Fire Department, Inc, Frame Volunteer Fire Department, the 130th Professional Firefighters Local 4889, Charleston Fire Department, South Charleston Fire Department, and Ripley VFD were all in attendance. After completing multiple evolutions throughout the upstairs and main floor of the home, the remainder of the home was burnt down for the property owner. Thank you to everyone in attendance and making this a successful training.

On Sunday August 23rd from 9a-4p, Pinch VFD will be conducting live fire training with an acquired structure in the 2900 block of Pennsylvania Ave. On the hill across from the entrance to Coonskin Park. There will be emergency vehicles in the area so please use caution.

We’re excited about the Pinch Reunion this weekend!

Stephen is registered for the 5k - are you? Runners, meet us at the cafe after running for a 30% discount on protein bars and recovery protein shakes to recover some energy!

We will have our special Pinch WV Rise & Grind mugs available again.

And tomorrow, we are LAUNCHING OUR FALL MENU!

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – SATURDAY, AUGUST 22 🚨

The Pinch Reunion Race will take place tomorrow morning, Saturday, August 22, from approximately 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM.

⚠️ During this time, traffic will be SLOW TO STOPPED in the area from Pinch Elementary School to Reunion Road while runners are on the course.

🚗 Please plan accordingly:
• Use an alternate route if possible
• Allow extra travel time
• Slow down and watch for runners, pedestrians, and race personnel
• Please be patient while traveling through the area

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep race participants and our community safe.

This Sunday we will be conducting training evolutions/live burns in an acquired structure within our area. We are in need of pallets to place inside the structure if anyone would have any that they would be willing to donate some. We will gladly come and pick them up. Thanks in advance!

At 9:40pm tonight, Pinch VFD was dispatched for a vehicle stuck in high water at the Pinch/Quick intersection with reported people trapped. Squad 2, Boat 2, and Utility 28 responded and arrived to find that the occupants of the vehicle were out safe. Crews remained on scene while bystanders attempted to pull the vehicle back out of the water. All units have returned to service and the roadway will remain closed for an unknown amount of time.
