🚨 SCAM ALERT – PHONE NUMBER SPOOFING 🚨

The Enfield Police Department has been made aware that a scammer is spoofing our department phone number, 603-632-7501, and contacting individuals in an attempt to sell life insurance.
⚠️ THIS IS NOT THE ENFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The Enfield Police Department is not selling or soliciting life insurance. Scammers can use technology to make it appear on your caller ID that a call is coming from a legitimate phone number — including ours.

If you receive one of these calls:
🔹 Do not provide any personal, financial, or identifying information.
🔹 Do not provide Social Security numbers, banking information, credit/debit card numbers, or other sensitive information.
🔹 Hang up if you are unsure who you are speaking with.
🔹 Remember that seeing 603-632-7501 on your caller ID does not necessarily mean the call is actually coming from our department.

If you have any concerns or want to verify whether a call actually came from us, please hang up and call the Enfield Police Department directly at 603-632-7501, or stop by the Enfield Public Safety Building and speak with us in person.

Please share this information, especially with friends, family members, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to phone scams.

When in doubt — hang up, call us directly, and never give out personal information.

🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾
Today, we’re celebrating a very special member of the Enfield Police Department — K9 Rancor! 💙🐕‍🦺

Rancor is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois who works alongside his handler, Sergeant Courtland Smith. While he may enjoy some well-deserved attention (and probably a few extra treats) on National Dog Day, Rancor has an important job to do!

🐾 Narcotics Detection
🔎 Search & Rescue
🚨 Apprehension
🧾 Evidence Detection

Rancor and Sgt. Smith train three times each month, working on different areas of Rancor’s specialties to keep their skills sharp and ready for when they’re needed in the field.

Rancor also loves participating in K9 demonstrations, where he and Sgt. Smith get the opportunity to show our community some of the skills they practice during training. Those same skills aren’t just for show — they’re put to work in real-life situations when called upon.
Behind every successful K9 team are countless hours of training, trust, teamwork, and maybe a toy tug, and ball or two. 🎾🐾

🎒👮 Annual Walk with a Cop – First Day of School 2026! 📚✏️

There’s no better way to kick off a new school year!

Today, members of the Enfield Police Department, Enfield Fire Department and Enfield Fast Squad joined students for our annual First Day of School Walk with a Cop. It was great to see so many smiling faces, catch up with returning students, meet some new ones, and help everyone start the school year on a positive note.

Events like this give our officers an opportunity to connect with our youngest community members outside of an emergency and remind them that we’re always here to help. 💙

We want to wish all of our students, teachers, staff, and families a safe, successful, and FUN 2026–2027 school year!

And to the parents… you made it. 😉☕️

🚓🚔PART-TIME OFFICER SPOTLIGHT: MIKE CRATE👮🏻‍♂️🚨
Today we’re shining the spotlight on Officer Mike Crate! 👏

Mike has dedicated 17 years to law enforcement with the Town of Enfield. Before beginning his law enforcement career, Mike worked as an insurance agent, bringing a wealth of experience and people skills to everything he does.

Mike officially retired from full-time service in February, but retirement hasn’t kept him away for long! He continues to work part-time with the Enfield Police Department, helping support our staffing needs and continuing to serve the community he has proudly called home.

When Mike isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, camping, and staying active through running. 🏕️🏃‍♂️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We’re grateful that Mike has chosen to continue sharing his experience, knowledge, and dedication with our department.

🚔 WELCOME TO ENFIELD PD, OFFICER DREXLER! 🚔

On Monday night, Caleb Drexler was officially sworn in as the newest Patrol Officer with the Enfield Police Department! 👮‍♂️🎉

For Caleb, serving Enfield is especially meaningful because Enfield is home. Caleb grew up right here in our community and graduated from Mascoma Valley Regional High School in 2021. We’re excited to have someone who knows and cares about our community joining our team and beginning this next chapter of his career.

When he’s not on duty, Caleb enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and their newest (and probably cutest) addition, their baby girl, Brynlee. 💙

🚔 Officer of the Week: Part-Time Officer Justin Thompson 🚔

This week, we're excited to spotlight Officer Justin Thompson, whose career has taken him from the skies to the streets.

Officer Thompson began his law enforcement career in 2015 with the Vermont State Police, serving out of the St. Johnsbury, Bradford, Westminster, and Royalton barracks. During his time with VSP, he proudly served as a K-9 handler and was also a member of the Tactical Team, gaining extensive experience in a variety of specialized law enforcement roles.

Before entering law enforcement, Justin built an impressive aviation career. His passion for flying began in 1995 while working at his local airport during high school, where he cleaned airplanes and answered phones. After attending college in Nashua, he worked his way through the aviation industry and became a flight instructor in Lebanon in 2005. He flew professionally until joining the Vermont State Police and returned to professional aviation in 2021, continuing to pursue both careers.

When he's off duty, Justin enjoys making the most of every season. During the winter you'll likely find him skiing in the backcountry, fall is spent deer and duck hunting, and summer is reserved for climbing adventures. He and his wife live in Vermont with their dogs and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer. Justin also enjoys spending time at the local Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) gyms. He began practicing BJJ in approximately 2013 and is a proud holder of a blue belt.

We're proud to have Officer Thompson serving the Enfield community. His dedication, professionalism, and wide range of experience make him an invaluable member of our department.

We tried to get a picture of Officer Thompson, but every time we looked up, he was already at 10,000 feet. Maybe next week! 🚁✈️

Walk With a Cop – First Day of School!

The Enfield Police Department is excited to help kick off the new school year by walking students to school on their very first day!

This is a great opportunity for students and families to meet our officers, enjoy a short walk together, and start the school year with a positive community tradition.

Today at approximately 4:12 p.m., the Enfield Police Department responded to a reported incident on Shaker Boulevard. This was an isolated incident, all involved parties have been identified, and there is no threat to the public.
