The burn ban has been lifted in Lee County due to increased seasonal rainfall.

While conditions have improved, Estero Fire Rescue reminds residents to continue exercising caution if resuming any type of outdoor burning. Even after rain, dry grass, brush, and vegetation can still catch fire under the right conditions.

Please burn responsibly, keep a water source nearby, never leave a fire unattended, and follow all local regulations and safety guidelines.

Overnight, at 3:09am SCPFD was dispatched to a structure fire on the 17000 block of Lebanon Rd. Units from San Carlos Park and Estero Fire Rescue responded to the scene where smoke was coming from the garage of the home. Crews made entry and extinguished the fire and checked for extension into the attic and interior of the home. The fire was contained to the garage. The home had four occupants, two dogs, and one bird, all made it out of the home prior to our arrival. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.

Friday was International Day of Families, and at Estero Fire Rescue, family means more than just the people we go home to at the end of the shift — it’s also the people we serve beside every day. ❤️🚒

The fire service is built on strong bonds, trust, and teamwork, and for many of us, those connections truly run in the family. We are proud to have fathers and sons, siblings, spouses, and extended family members serving within our department and alongside neighboring fire departments throughout our community.
Whether related by blood or by the badge, the fire service family is a special one. The support, dedication, and commitment shared between families both at home and in the station help make our department stronger every day.
To all the families who support first responders behind the scenes — thank you. Your sacrifices and encouragement mean more than words can express.
