WE DID IT!!! Yes, the DHS bill has been carved out from the other 5 budget bills and now the Senate is in discussions about how to rein in ICE.

We want NO NEW ICE FUNDING
We want Miller, Noem, and Bondi gone.
We want to see ICE agents’ faces and badges—no more masks and no more anonymity.
We want an end to quotas and racial profiling.
We want an independent investigation into Renee Good’s and Alex Pretti’s murders.
We want oversight at detention centers so people in them can stay safe.
We want an end to family detention.
We want ICE back at the border and out of our communities.
We want ICE abolished and replaced with an immigration enforcement agency that abides by the law, has real guardrails, and treats immigrants humanely.
And I want the Senator to vote no on any proposal until we have ironclad guarantees that we will get all of that.

There is no evidence that ICE or the Trump administration has made us or our country safer. Renee Good and Alex Pretti had no choice in becoming martyrs anymore than the 32 people who died while in ICE custody (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2026/jan/04/ice-2025-deaths-timeline)

Democratic values are rooted in the protection of human rights and the dignity of all. Humboldt shows its strength in our communities standing against these attacks by our federal government and through the organizing of and mutual aid for our families, friends, and neighbors regardless of race, nationality, or immigration status.

On Trump's Call for Political Violence Against Democrats:

The President of the United States is calling for Members of Congress to be executed. Those are words no President should ever speak and they represent a direct threat to our democracy. It is disgusting and unacceptable.
Early Thursday, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social calling for a handful of Democrats to be tried and executed for sedition after they called on active duty US soldiers and intelligence officials to uphold their constitutional duty not to obey unlawful orders.
This is about more than a social media post. This is a constitutional crisis. We’ve seen this horror before: On January 6, 2021, Trump ordered his supporters to march to the Capitol to stop the certification of an election he lost. His mob erected a gallows to hang his own Vice President.
Now, he’s calling on them again to target Democratic lawmakers. All because Democrats in Congress correctly reminded service members of their legal duty to refuse unlawful orders.
Under no circumstances should the President of the United States be calling on his political opposition to be put to death for the not-crimes of common sense and respecting the Constitution. This is not normal and we cannot allow this to feel normal. It is incumbent on leadership from all parties to reject his comments in the strongest possible terms. Anyone who will not condemn these comments is not fit for public office.
