Naval Station Everett Command Master Chief Jeffrey Flemming served as a guest speaker, reflecting on sacrifice, remembrance, and what Memorial Day means to him. He was also invited by the cemetery team to lay a wreath in honor of those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

In this video, you’ll hear the Honor Guard’s rifle salute, followed by the playing of Taps, and a portion of CMDCM Flemming’s remarks honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to American Legion Post 125, the Granite Falls Cemetery team, Mayor Matt Hartman, Scout Troops 28 and 128, and the Granite Falls community for welcoming us and hosting such a meaningful ceremony.

We invite you to watch, reflect, and share the name or story of someone you are honoring this Memorial Day.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Naval Station Everett to Conduct Scheduled Training Exercise May 6-8, 2026

EVERETT, Wash. — Naval Station Everett will conduct a scheduled training exercise from May 6 to May 8.

During this period, residents in surrounding communities may hear noise from blank ammunition, observe smoke, added small boat activity, see emergency vehicles, and experience temporary changes to normal traffic patterns near the installation.

This training is part of the installation’s routinely planned exercises to maintain operational readiness and is not in response to any specific threat. Members of the public should not be alarmed by the increased activity associated with this training. Anyone experiencing a genuine emergency, or who believes individuals or property are in danger, should still call 911 or contact local law enforcement.
