๐จ .25% BAC: Driver Falls Asleep, Car Takes a Swim, Driver Goes to Jail ๐จ
A driver with a blood alcohol concentration of more than three times the legal limit (.25% BAC) recently took an unexpected detour while traveling westbound on SR-37, ending up in the water.
The driver claimed he swerved to avoid an animal. However, a witness reported seeing no animal in the roadway and observed the driver apparently asleep after the vehicle came to rest in the water.
Fortunately, the driver was safely rescued by our partners at the Vallejo Fire Department, and no one else was injured.
Alcohol impairs judgment, reaction time, and decision-making. At .25% BAC, a driver is severely impaired and poses a significant danger to themselves and others.
๐ป If you're drinking, make a plan before you go out. ๐ Use a rideshare or taxi. ๐ฅ Designate a sober driver.
Don't let impaired driving take you off the roadโand into the water. Drive sober. Arrive alive.
