Geist Elementary PTO

Once upon a time…two very brave school administrators agreed to camp out on the roof of Geist Elementary School. 🐊⛺

And because our Gators raised more than $50,000 during Gator Gallop, Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Laffey officially made good on that promise!

There were gator themed pajamas, a fully decked-out Gator campsite, co****le, bubble blasters, sidewalk chalk masterpieces, a bedtime story from the roof and the BEST visitors a couple of rooftop campers could ask for!

We absolutely loved seeing so many Geist families come out to celebrate, and the smiles on our students' faces made every bit of this adventure worth it.

A huge thank you to Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Laffey for being such wonderful sports, to everyone who helped bring our rooftop Gator campout to life, and to our families for showing up with so much Gator spirit!

And while we're pretty sure our campers needed an extra cup of coffee this morning, we hope they'll agree…

Memories were made. And this one was worth staying up for. 💚

We woke up this morning and decided it was a beautiful day for a rooftop campout! ⛺🐊

Our Gators earned it by raising more than $50,000 during Gator Gallop, and tonight Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Laffey are making good on their promise!

🎨 6–7 PM: Bring the family by GES to decorate our sidewalks with chalk drawings and messages of encouragement for our rooftop campers! We'll provide the chalk! Then head home at 7 PM because...

📖 7:30 PM: Once you're home and cozy, tune in to our page for a live bedtime story with Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Laffey, broadcasting from the GES roof!

And before the fun even begins, can we give a HUGE shout-out to our incredible HSE maintenance crew?! They jumped right in to help us get everything set up this morning, and we are continually blown away by how kind, helpful and willing to go above and beyond our HSE district employees are. GES's rock star custodian, Paula Howard, deserves a giant heaping of gratitude for helping us make this and all the Gator Gallop magic happen, too (and so much more!!). We are forever grateful for the people behind the scenes who help make these special moments possible for our students! 💚

See you tonight, Gators! Let's make sure Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Laffey feel the love from their rooftop campsite!

GES knows how to put the FUN in Fun Run at Gator Gallop!!! 🐊🎉

A little rain may have moved us indoors on Friday, but judging by these smiles…we don’t think our Gators minded one bit. 🤩 Inflatables in the gym, DJ Khris bringing the party, popsicles, Gator-Ade, LOTS of running and dancing—and one seriously happy school full of Gators!

After raising an absolutely incredible $51,744, this was the celebration our Gators deserved. And somehow, a last-minute change of plans turned into one of the most FUN Gator Gallops yet!

We couldn’t be prouder of our students, our staff, our volunteers, our families and this entire Geist Gator community. You showed up, rolled with us and made the day something so special.

These photos just can’t help but make you smile. 💚🐊 More in the comments…just too many great ones to choose from 🤩

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday to our PTO Co-Treasurer, Stephanie Wolfe!

Stephanie is such a wonderful teammate — always willing to jump in, lend a hand, and have some fun along the way. We’re so grateful for all she does for our Gator community!

Here’s what Stephanie had to share about why she joined the PTO:

"I joined the PTO as a 3rd grade and kindergarten parent, knowing I wanted to be more involved in their school experiences. Where else can you help plan fun events, support the amazing teachers and staff at GES, and maybe even sneak a hug from your kid during the school day?! Being on the PTO keeps me connected to the school community and being a part of something that brings smiles to kids, parents, and staff. It is a great way to give back and have fun while doing it!"

Stephanie, we appreciate you so much and hope you have the happiest birthday! 💖🎈

Welcome to October! 💚 With the hustle and bustle of the next couple of weeks, we wanted to treat all of our staff with some goodies to keep the energy up. Whether they have long days coming up for Parent-Teacher Conferences, or they need a little boost to help them through the work day, we have something for everyone in our grab bags! They also got to channel their inner Dolly and create their own "cup of ambition" with a flavored water mix of their choice. It will be a busy 2 weeks for our staff and kiddos, but Fall Break is right around the corner! 🎉
