Healthy meals fuel student success—and your child may qualify for them at no cost! Forney ISD offers nutritious breakfasts and lunches every school day, and families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals must complete a new application for the 2026-2027 school year.

Important Updates:
If we don’t receive your application by September 24, 2026, your child’s meal status will change to full pay.
If you’ve already submitted an application or received a Direct Certification letter, no further action is needed.
Those that qualify may also receive reduced technology fees and be eligible for programs including Angel Tree and Project Backpack

Congratulations to Smith Shark, Maverick Cartee, who was selected as a finalist in this year's Print Those Pics Cellphone Photography contest organized by the Forney ISD Fine Arts Department. Maverick's photograph, titled "Florida Sunset," earned third place in the Intermediate School division. Kudos to Maverick and his art teacher, Ms. Jenny Kaup, for this amazing accomplishment!

The talent in these students is unbelievable, and the energy in the room was electric as everyone put their all into auditions. Attention Smith Sharks!
Message from Forney ISD Transportation Department:

Effective August 31, 2026, Forney ISD Transportation will strictly enforce the Smart Tag badge policy to ensure accurate tracking and student safety. Students can stop by the front office to have a Smart Tag printed for them if needed.

Any student who accumulates 5 or more missed Smart Tag swipes will no longer be permitted to ride the bus home after school without a Smart Tag badge. After 5 missed swipes, if the student does not have a Smart Tag with them, they will be denied boarding on the ride home until a replacement badge is issued. Students will still be allowed to ride the bus in the mornings, but administrative follow-up will occur prior to dismissal.
