The Forsyth (Missouri) Fire Department is a combination fire department comprised of 1 career staff and volunteers and operating out of two fire stations. We currently have six fire apparatus that are ready to respond to any emergency. We have automatic mutual aid agreements with both Central Taney County Fire Distr

ict and Western Taney County Fire District for assistance. We try to keep our community safe by promoting fire prevention campaigns throughout the year with programs like smoke detectors, extinguisher training and our new arrival, Sparky, to protect our community’s most valuable resource – our kids. As of January 1st, 2010, our ISO rating is 4 for most areas of town. We respond to approximately 300 calls for service per year. About 80% of those are medical emergencies. Our average volunteer puts in 20 hrs per month in training and other duties. We actively recruit for volunteers to serve as Firefighters, Explorers or member of our Auxiliary. We strive to make our community a safe and secure place for the visitors and residents of the City of Forsyth.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we pause to honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We also recognize all firefighters—especially our own local members—who selflessly give their time, missing moments with their families to serve and protect our community.

From Thursday night trainings, to special events, to the midnight and 2:00 AM calls, there is so much that happens behind the scenes that often goes unnoticed.

Thank you for your dedication, your sacrifice, and your commitment to keeping our community safe. 🚒
