Imagine being at your high school graduation and later that year you joined the military, earn a slot for Ranger school in January and then after 62 days of arguably the toughest time frame to go through you find yourself at Victory Pond getting your tab pinned on. Then crushing airborne school, moving to Air Assault school and to add envy to your subordinates and peers make it through Pathfinder school all before your 20th birthday. As a PFC Veit did all that all within 6 months.

People see the Best Ranger starting line, but they don’t see everything it takes to get there.

First, you have to earn the Ranger Tab. Then compete within your unit just to make the team. If your unit doesn’t have a slot, you have to petition for the opportunity to compete.

After all that, you’ve only earned a chance to stand on the line, not a guarantee to finish. That’s what makes Best Ranger unlike any other competition.
