..HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT TO 9 PM CDT TUESDAY.....HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT TO 9 PM CDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Peak heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees expected Tuesday and
Wednesday afternoons.

* WHERE...Portions of northern and central Illinois near and south of
I-80, as well as all of northwest Indiana.

* WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, from noon CDT to 9 PM CDT
Tuesday. For the second Heat Advisory, from noon CDT to 9 PM CDT
Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms capable of producing torrential rainfall will spread across northern and central Illinois, and northwest Indiana tonight. Given the already saturated soils, this could lead to additional instances of flooding.

The most vulnerable areas for flooding tonight will be near and south of the I-80 and across much of northwest Indiana, where a Flood Watch is in effect until 10 AM CDT on Sunday.

The watch has been expanded to include Kendall, northern Will, and southern Cook Counties.

..FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT CDT /1 AM EDT/ TONIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas,
Eastern Will, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, La Salle,
Livingston and Southern Will and northwest Indiana, including the
following areas, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* WHEN...From midnight CDT /1 AM EDT/ tonight through Sunday
morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads and streets may be flooded. Area creeks and streams
are already elevated, increasing the risk of flooding due to
additional rainfall.

SR 352 near ambia after the curve of 600 S. Use alternate routes please.

Benton County Highway has been out placing high water warning signs. There are many areas of water covered road ways. The flooded areas out number the amount of signs we have. With the amount of rain fall and forecast please drive accordingly to the road conditions ahead of you.

*** Drive like your taking grandma to the next holiday gathering, and she is holding a crock pot of cheesy potatoes. Best to play it safe !!

Road is open!

County Road 500 South from US 52 to CR 500 East is closed due to high water.

In addition many roads are saturated and have standing water in places. Please drive according to conditions for everyone’s safety !

MOROCCO, OXFORD, PAXTON, PONTIAC, RENSSELAER, ROSELAWN,
AND WATSEKA.

Update. The intersection of State Road 18 and County Road 1200 E. is now back open. 

Avoid the area. SR 18 is closed at 1200 E at this time while BCSO and other public safety they work a serious personal injury crash. ISP contacted for crash reconstruction.
