We’re pleased to spotlight Brwarchitects and Bruce Wardell, Founding Principal, as a sponsor of the 4th Annual Regional Housing Summit: From Vision to Impact.
For more than forty years, BRW has told the stories of our clients and communities through architecture. They approach every project with compassion and collaboration, from resident-led affordable housing to commercial, education, religious, and residential design.
The foundation of Bruce’s work is building genuine relationships within each client’s community, a value he gained from his Peace Corps service in Tonga. Bruce has dedicated much of his career to amplifying the services and ministries provided by churches, synagogues, and nonprofits. Over the last decade Bruce has developed a robust affordable housing studio, dedicated to resident-led design, eliminating homelessness, and providing permanent supportive housing for vulnerable communities in Charlottesville.

Bruce will join our Faith in Housing panel, exploring how new Virginia legislation is opening doors for faith-based and nonprofit organizations to play a greater role in developing housing. The conversation will look at what these new opportunities could mean for organizations with land, community connections, and a desire to help address the housing shortage—and what it takes to turn that opportunity into housing.
With Bruce's experience working with churches, nonprofits, and affordable housing projects, we're excited to have his perspective at the table for this timely conversation.
